Since our rebirth in 1980, Kaufman Astoria Studios (KAS) has established itself as one of the largest and most sophisticated film and television production centers on the east coast. As a full-service, turn-key facility, we are equipped to handle every conceivable size, style and type of production whether it be for film, video, commericals, music, sound, or studio photography.

KAS is the center of a bustling creative environment where shooting, pre-production, and post-production take place around the clock. We offer producers, directors and other industry professionals over 500,000 square feet of office and service space, long or short term, for budgets large and small.

KAS has combined the experience of our storied past with the most advanced technologies, equipment and methodologies of modern-day production. Our facility is completely self-contained with all of a production¹s needs available on the premises.

This includes six versatile stages, sound-isolated carpentry shops, our on-site lighting/grip company, trucks and generators, offices, makeup & hair, wardrobe rooms, a 97-seat screening room, and so much more. At KAS you¹ll find abundant parking, 24-hour security, a world-class sound and music studio, and an on-site cafe and caterer.

Our versatility and emphasis on service has made KAS the studio of choice for countless productions. We have been the long-time home of PBS's Sesame Street, and recent host to productions like The Manchurian Candidate, The Stepford Wives, the Golden Globe-winning Angels in America, and numerous independent films and smaller projects. In 2004/2005 KAS will also play host to the upcoming Pink Panther movie and the Law and Order television series.
